Zone 10 hunters have 99% draw chance acording to stats from past years
Zone 9 hunters about 55% draw chance

Again your chances to draw are almost the same as gun hunters maybe a little less

Zone 9 archery hunters would have a chance at a true monarch. Over the past years several have been on this property early season. This is a 1st time archery and shotgun hunts offered on this farm.

I have never applied for archery zone 9 but I will put my application in for 2009 and take my preference point for 2010 and I would tell every avid bow hunter who can wait 1 year to do the same.

At least one buck close to 200" on this farm early season not including all the other trophy bucks we see every week on this farm.

Just across the road from this farm in the last 3 years I know of and seen these bucks in person two scoring over 200" that were taken by hunters.
Both these bucks were on this farm until the rut kicked into high gear and that's what gave a couple hunters all they needed.

2009 DEER HUNTING SEASON STARTS FOR MN Whitetail Hunts

After 12 hours of cutting brush were off to phase 2 on this property. Level the soil, remove rocks and apply weed killer.

After 10 days we will turn the soil over apply seed.

Estimate of 12-15 acres of food plots.

We expect the deer population on this farm to be around 100 feeding whitetail deer on a regular basis.  As the season changes the amount of deer should grow closer to 200 feeding deer some time in early November.

We counted 47 whitetail deer leaving these woods 2 days ago.

Here at MN Whitetail Hunts we want you to have fun.

What to expect while on your hunt with MN Whitetail Hunts:
Once you arrive in Spring Valley, Minnesota you'll meet myself and or an assistant. One of us will drive you to some deer stand locations set in place for the Minnesota 2009 deer hunting season. We will also show you some trail camera photos of the deer that have been hanging around these deer stands and blinds.

MN Whitetail Hunts prefers to get deer hunters in the stands or blinds at least 1 hour prior to shooting hours.. You as the hunter need to determine how long you want to sit each stand. You let us know what time to pick you up and MN Whitetail Hunts will be there.. If your not at the pick up point MN Whitetail Hunts will be back every half hour to this location.

One half hour after sunset MN Whitetail Hunts will walk or drive out to you.. MN Whitetail Hunts prefers to chase the deer away and not give up the stand locations.

For those of you hunting with MN Whitetail Hunts that shoot deer and would like to donate some we have places for the meat to go.

MN Whitetail Hunts will be planting several food plots for 2009 deer hunting season. See phase 2 below on progress.

Early archery deer season hunters should have a very successful deer hunting season here at MN Whitetail Hunts while hunting over fresh food plots. MN Whitetail Hunts will be planting 3 types of clover on 2 1/2 acres, 1 acre of oats, 5 acres of alfalfa, along with hundreds of oak trees and acorns.

Early to mid October archery deer hunters will have several acres of prime food plots kicking in after a couple of hard frosts. You will be hunting over rape, sugar beats and corn fields.

Late October thru early November, MN deer archery hunters will be hunting over some food plots, but more than likely you'll be hunting heavy used scrapelines and moving from place to place calling depending on deer activity.

New for MN Whitetail Hunts is the 2009 MN firearm deer season on a couple farms. Friends and family have been hunting these farms over the years. Well, MN Whitetail Hunts have decided to set aside a couple farms just for you. MN Whitetail Hunts has a strong feeling these hunts will go 100% with some very nice trophy bucks.

Muzzleloader deer hunters:
MN Whitetail Hunts has taken away several muzzleloader openings for 2009. A couple of things that have taken place during the past couple of years; weather has been brutal 3 out of the last 4 years. This has left the deer herding up in just a couple places during the season. Our 2008 hunters with MN Whitetail Hunts shot plenty of bucks and had seen or missed some real trophy bucks.

MN Whitetail Hunts is excited about a small new farm for 2009. MN Whitetail Hunts has seen some very large whitetails over the years on this farm late season. This farm borders Iowa and it has a 5 acre food plot, 15 acres of woods and about 100 acres of tall grass 4'-6'. MN Whitetail Hunts is predicting 2 trophy bucks off this farm during last 10 days of muzzleloader season with only allowing 1 hunter per 5 days with 2 hunts on the farm. These hunts will take place during the Iowa firearm hunt just feet away from this farm.

Late season archery deer hunters:
By this time of the year the deer have been around the block several times. Most of the trophy bucks are well educated, but after several days of no hunting pressure they tend to fall back on old habbits. Food plots will be the key locations depending on snow amounts what food plots will be producing.

This spring MN Whitetail Hunts will be planting around 20 eight foot apple trees, a dozen or so berry plants and shrubs all in 1 location. These trees and shrubs will produce fruit early-mid and late-season so MN Whitetail Hunts can hunt over this at any time.

All our Iowa deer hunting openings are full at this time...Check back for a cancelation or call and get on a list of call backs.

MN Whitetail Hunts is currently looking into more late deer season property that holds trophy whitetail bucks. If everything works out MN Whitetail Hunts will offer a couple more deer hunts.

MN Whitetail Hunts would like to thank each and every hunter who hunted with us these past years.  We thank those who keep comming back looking for that 1 they missed last year (Donnie) that includes you as well.

Every year at least 1 hunter has had a chance to shoot a true trophy close to the 200" mark. During the 2008 season, 1 hunter relocated and made the biggest mistake he has ever made. After getting settled into place, it looked better over there so the hunter moved about 250 yards. Well, a 1/2 hour later, less than 10 feet away from where he was supposed to stay, the deer of a life time walked by and was never seen again. I had seen this buck 2 1/2 months prior to this twice in a 4 day period and never seen him again. I would guess this trophy scored high 190"s as a typical 6x6 with a 2" or 3" kicker.

2007 it was Donnie who had a chance at a different trophy.
2006 it was a hunter who said he just could not see his pins while looking towards the sun all he could do was watch it walk by.
2005 it was me that had hit it, but never found the trophy.

Who will have the chance in 2009?
