WHITETAIL DEER

Message from Brian: Yes I am banking 90% that you will take home a deer you want to shoot, the $50.00 per day fee hardly covers the gas used at 9 miles per gallon and $3.00/gallon for gas these days.

We are a Minnesota whitetail hunting guide service in Southern MN.

NEW!! Shotgun hunt
1 Parent with 1 youth hunter (ONLY)
This will be a November hunt DNR has not set date 2008 season 100% yet. This will be a prime time for a youth hunter to take advantage of the rut.  Our 2007 Youth hunter/Grandfather passed up close to a 100 deer within 50 yards.

2007 shotgun season you were able to take 1 buck plus 3 additional antlerless deer per lic/Hunter.  Sounds like this will hold for 2008 season as well

A typical scouting day runs me $75.00 I average about $500.00 per week for 20 weeks.  Kind of like taxidermy work, you love the work but don't make crap.

Actually I just got to the point where I get more out of myself setting someone else up that has not had the chances I have had over the years. It's like the feeling you had when ya 1st killed a trophy.

This hunter in orange comes every year and normally brings a new face with every year. The last 2 years he has hunted less then 3 hours total before filling out his tags.

This past season I actually had to sit with him on a 2 man stand to keep him from shooting a couple other bucks I knew were in the area in hopes to fill a dream he has had.  He wanted to shoot a dark Brown rack (Very rare in my areas) Not a monster but 1 that was well over his prime and it had a dark brown rack.

Typical hunter once you see a big buck!!!!!! 45 minutes on stand 160" 10 point walks out...Yup you guessed it. He said, ah hell that's a shooter and bang  75 yards away the buck stood there and just looked at us. As he reloads the buck walks off & a bigger 1 walks out. This 1 by no means was a buck you could pass on. Bang off the smoke pole went. Another miss

He reloads....looks at me...says I think I got him...just shook my head nope a clean miss...Naw bull shit, he went down in his tracks...] were you shooting at & how the heck could you even see with all the smoke.  Well in the woods on the same trail was the dark brown rack buck.  Indeed he fell over about 10 yards from the shot.

Now the buck he should have shot was around 185"...The 1 he went home with was about 135" gross but had dark brown antlers.  I have a million regrets over that but today the Hunter has none.  He sent me a x-mas card with a very nice bonus/million thank yous and a payment for this years hunt. ((((( what more could a guy in my shoes ask for )))

UPDATE:
The guy I talked about above who shot the dark antler buck and passed the 185" buck. I guessed that buck at 185", well he turned out to be 192" gross shot by the neighbor the next day. This buck was the feature of Minnesota outdoor news paper.  I watched this buck and 5 others for 2 months all in the same area. I shot (I think) his twin during bow season late Oct at 3 yards in a ground blind while a client was hunting about 75 yards from me and he shot the 160"
