This hunt is just as good as the 1st hunt of Dec. We will hunt 5 miles down the state line from the last group of hunters. Also they will be totally different bucks you'll be hunting. Iowa Hunters only hunt there side during these dates and not before. The spot and stalk hunters have a great chance on this hunt to get a monster mid day bedded up on a fence line. 50% DOWN PAYMENT IS DUE
WHEN YOU BOOK THE HUNT
We only take 20 muzzy hunters - Weather permitting and if you can shoot out to 75 yards we should go 100% If you cannot handle cold weather, please do not book a hunt. You are hunting in MN, weather changes can be drastic., bring extra long johns! Archery hunters are welcome, You will not be hunting near any gun hunter (at least 1 mile away) Combo small Buck/Doe hunts available by request. Any small buck shot ( Button bucks dont count ) without prior agreements will end the hunt and any future hunts with us. We have other areas to hunt for these bucks. All Deer Hunts are wild deer (NO HIGH FENCE) We have over 30,000 acres we hunt. Please note that hunts will take within 1 foot to 15 miles of the Iowa State line. We dont book any hunts
until Jan 1st, of the new year, the reason being
I'm sure we will fill the muzzy season & the archery Mid to late October dates. If any of you want 1 hell of a good hunt our muzzy hunts are by far more impressive then any hunt I have ever seen or been on. As IOWA's season kicks into gear our big buck population kicks into high gear. Our land borders Iowa and Iowa's deer season starts 1st weekend in December right smack in the middle of our muzzy season Some areas you can expect to see herds of deer. I have seen over a hundred jump the fence single file with several shooter bucks. Most of these deer all end up on our land for about 2 weeks. At this time it is our 2nd rut as well so you get the best of all 3. I tell all the hunters who hunt these dates to hold off for at least a 150" buck but shoot what ever you want. Normaly at least 1 hunter will see or get a good shot at 1 being close to the 200" mark. We can do a 5 day archery hunt and maybe a 5 day muzzy hunt. Only way I can do a 5 day muzzy hunt would be if I have open dates. We have 16 days during the muzzy season. We have a limit on how many hunters during this season reason being no area in the world can handle a high kill rate year after year in the wild. The 4 1/2 day hunt is set around the Iowa season so everyone gets a great hunt. Our hunts at this time frame match up with Iowa hunters we know. Opening week of muzzy season we hunt a different area, 1 thats closer to a zone thats been open gun season but closed in my zone. Lots of nice bucks get pushed into this area Weather permitting I dont think you'll need more then 4 days unless your looking for the true trophy and i'm still looking. What can I expect for weather? Last year muzzy season we had a week of 20 below windchills and no snow. 2 years ago it was 65 for half the season and 16'' of snow 25 degrees for the other half. I tell all hunters to bring plenty of hand warmers. Blaze orange must be used in Minnesota during any open firearms season. Orange camo is ok you need to have a blaze orange cap. Scopes not allowed in Minnesota during the muzzy season unless it's a non magnified scope handicap permit. Cross bows can only be used during the firearms season or unless you have a permitt from the Minnesota DNR. We do have 2 man stands so if you want to sit with a child, spouse or who ever let me know in advance so we can allow some time to prepare for your needs. We have ground blinds, tree ladder stands 14' - 15' & scrub brush stands 6'. Most of the deer stands are set for right handed shooters (Didn't relize we had so many left handed hunters). Muzzy hunters have this option..Sit on stand while we scout for trophy bucks or come along. If I find a solid shooter in a location you can do a stalk I'll come pick you up or set you in a new location where he will come out later on. We do have areas for those who like to walk and jump deer. Typicaly this works good for small bucks up to 150" bucks. We do have small standing corn fields to hunt over but typicaly at this time of year (muzzy season)the bucks shy away from these areas until dark. We do have another area (food plot) but this area is off limits to any hunting all season. We hunt deer headed to & from this area. Reason being we need a safe house for deer it also helps you as hunters. Plenty of deer will be roaming a mile to visit this location. I do ask all hunters to notify me prior to you tracking a deer unless you see it go down. We have some agreements with neighbors I must notify them prior to entering there land while tracking deer. Also you can get in big trouble by crossing into Iowa without an Iowa DNR officer if this were to happen. Minnesota has a child support law. So if you think ya might fall into this area contact MN DNR and have your drivers license number ready to find out if you can obtain a hunting lic. This is only for parents with back child-support payments. Testimonial:
